What is an NHS Genomics Laboratory Hub?
The national genomic testing service is delivered through a network of seven Genomic Laboratory Hubs (GLHs), each responsible for coordinating services for a population. The North West GLH will help to address the variation in quality and access to genetic testing across the country, especially in cancer, and improve the information available to clinicians and patients.
Who we are
The North West Genomics Laboratory Hub is led by MFT and comprises delivery partners throughout the North West. The GLH sits within the MFT Specialised Hospitals Group. The Clinical Divisional Director for the Genomics Division is Dr Fiona Lalloo.

Our purpose
The GLH delivers the national genomic test directory across the North West, supports clinical teams with advice and guidance, and coordinates quality, turnaround times and reporting so that patients get the right test, at the right time, with clear results.
Contact the hub
Our main site is the Manchester Laboratory Hub, based at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital, with a second site in Liverpool. Queries, feedback and complaints about genomic testing can be sent to the laboratory.

Working with us
Laboratory test service turnaround times are published so that clinical teams know what to expect. You can find genomic test information and reporting times in our documents.
