Hive is the most ambitious digital project in the history of MFT. Powered by tried and tested Epic software, it represents a complete transformation in the way we work and provide care, with benefits for staff and patients alike.
What Hive means for patients
As a large and complex Trust, we understand that our patients may receive care at different clinical services across multiple hospital locations. By bringing together all of MFT’s previous IT and patient record systems, Hive offers patients a more joined up healthcare experience, wherever they are treated.
Since Hive went live in September 2022, staff have adopted new, digital ways of working while continuing to provide the best care for our patients. Positive impacts so far include:
- Access to a single patient record across the Trust is improving standards of services at all hospitals.
- Patients no longer have to repeat the same information to different members of staff.
- Staff have been able to spend more time caring for patients as information is at their fingertips.

MyMFT: healthcare in your hands
MyMFT is an online patient portal and app created for MFT patients. It allows users to access their appointment details, letters and other medical information, in a way that is both quick and secure.
