Research careers for health and care professionals
MFT is one of Europe’s largest and leading teaching hospital trusts for developing clinical academic careers among Health and Social Care Professionals (HCPs), including nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists, clinical psychologists, social workers and healthcare scientists.
The School of Health Sciences at The University of Manchester enjoys an international reputation for the quality of its research across several health and social care disciplines. The School has over six thousand students studying on ten undergraduate and over 30 postgraduate taught programmes, as well as professional doctorates and PhD programmes.
Manchester Catalys will create a culture where the HCP contribution to research is valued, visible and supported. It aims to develop MFT research leaders and an international reputation for clinical excellence in research, providing mechanisms to realise and develop clinical academic potential across the Trust. It offers a central hub, virtual and in person, for clinical academic research activity between the University and MFT, reflecting the values of both organisations.
