About Tom Rafferty
Tom began his career on the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme in 2006, following which he worked in operational roles at acute providers in Bristol and London. He has held a series of national policy and strategy roles, including a secondment at the Department of Health as Head of Provider Strategy.
Tom moved back into the provider sector as Head of Strategy at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust before moving to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in 2018. He worked as Director of Strategy across a number of our Clinical Groups and led the work to develop our MFT strategy, Where Excellence Meets Compassion, before moving into the role of Chief Strategy Officer, which includes the Trust’s communications and engagement portfolio.
