Professor Matt Makin is Interim Joint Chief Medical Officer at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
Born and brought up in Manchester, he has a clinical and research background in palliative care medicine and has held senior medical leadership roles across the NHS in England and Wales. His interests include health inequalities, clinical ethics, and strengthening medical engagement to support compassionate, high-quality care for local communities.
